Things To Do At Puri Gangga Resort, Bali

It was such a beautiful, memorable experience going to Bali, and it way surpassed my expectations. I loved going to Bali so much that it became one of my favorite travel destinations in the world, and promised to go back within the next three years. One of my most favorite parts of Bali was staying at Puri Gangga Resort in central Ubud. It was such a wonderful experience at the resort, and their service was so top notch and extra that it made my trip the best trip I have ever had. These are some of the activities you can do and will be so worthwhile during your trip, when you stay at Puri Gangga Resort.

1. Get a full body massage and free foot massage (included in package) at the Dewi Gangga Spa

I loved going to the spa at Dewi Gangga so much; I probably went there too many times and annoyed the lady (she is so nice by the way! The really skinny lady= her hospitality is just amazing; she gave me free straw shoes made of bamboo when I asked where to get them also). The spa is so amazing because when I went the first day, the massage made me fall asleep because she hit all the right spots. I received a facial the second time I went and it was great also. The oil made me fall asleep again. The third time I went, I went for the amazing floral bath and I absolutely fell in love. I was in there for the full 45 minutes and even asked her take a photo for me. She was so nice and the bath was so beautiful with so many different types of flowers. It felt amazing to detox after all those cocktails I had during my long trip and to feel so tranquilized. I loved this spa and will definitely go back there just to go to the spa again.

2. Order Room Service- This one is a must! All of their menu items are so amazingly delicious!

I had no expectations for the room service, because I usually don't in Orange County. It is mostly hit or a miss, even in Vegas's top hotels such as Aria. I had some amazing room service like the omelette at Aria when it first opened, but had really nasty pancakes at Monte Carlo when it was still alive. Some room service I tried in Hollywood was pretty normal and bland, while I had good room service in The Bahamas. I don't know why but room service is always a hit or a miss when I travel to other countries or stay at a local hotel. That is why when I go to an Orange County Hotel, I order Postmates or Uber Eats because it tastes much better and I know what I am going to eat. However, at Puri Gangga Resort, their whole menu that I tried was so delicious!! I seriously sometimes think about the menu items because all of them were so good. I don't think I had any real Balinese meals except the floating breakfast, but the pizza, spaghetti, and other things I tried were really good. The only thing about the resort and Bali in general are the bugs around the place. I didn't know there was bug spray that would've made all the bugs disappear instantly until the last day unfortunately. I sprayed it the last day and they all were gone! but the bugs in Bali are enormous, and the mosquitoes really scared me so much. These mosquitoes were the size of a ping pong ball and they buzzed so monstrously. Also whenever I left food out the bugs would come for them. It was not pleasant for in room dining service. Otherwise, the food was really good and I wasn't in the hotel a lot so I had a great time either way.

These tasted so much better than they looked, even though they look great too. The pizza was so soft and delicious, with the cheese tasting so yummy. The spaghetti was so thoroughly cooked and was better than the pasta in Italy by a lot! I loved the in room dining there. If you are lazy to go out make sure to try some items off the menu there!

3. Must- Floating Breakfast

I go into greater detail in my floating breakfast blog, but this really is a must. Even if you are not staying at Puri Gangga, they probably offer a floating breakfast in every resort in Bali. They have prettier baskets (hearts/red) and the food should probably vary. It is such a wholesome traditional experience when you are in Bali so make sure to get one while you are vacationing in Bali! I got to see them set up the basket so I was more excited to experience this in the pool.

4. Straw Making Class

I was so sad I could not experience this because every time they offered this I was at a different location. I think I could've done it the last day but I was so tired from not sleeping all vacation long and also because there was a huge thunderstorm. I really told myself I would come back to the resort for this class among other activities I could not do at the resort. They offer this at this awesome little center, but I never saw anyone do it. Actually, the resort itself is so quiet and other than the workers I have not seen many people at all. I know the resort was full, but I could not hear anything. I really liked that the rooms were far away from eachother, and I like my privacy so I was happy I could enjoy the serene atmosphere of Bali and find my inner peace.

Even if you don't like these activities, just look at the architecture of this place. So much tradition, so much history, the grass is so perfectly maintained, the stepping stones are perfectly chiseled, and it just looks like a scene from "Eat Pray Love." How can you say no to this???

5. Tegalalang Rice Terrace Guided Tour/Uluwatu Temple Tour

This place is also a must. It was the highlight of my life when I went on the Bali swing and even made a friend (tour guide). He was my photo taker and he took this amazing photo! I loved the view here so much and all the greenery. So pretty!! The swing is a must do because they let you on forwards and backwards. Amazing experience! They said that Puri Gangga will book a tour here with a guide and you can even hike to this place (preferably not when it is raining). Maybe a scooter!
