My Cozy Christmas Week In Seoul

After our weekend in Jeju Island, we flew to Nonhyeondong Gangnam Seoul by a short 45 minute plane ride. It took off and literally landed like the length from LA to Vegas. We were really tired that day because the night before, we did a pub crawl in Jeju Island and we had way too much (drinks) fun with some Jeju people. We also saw some alpacas right before we left in the morning, so we were super exhausted carrying our luggage and tangerines to our air bnb.

I finally tried Lotteria for the first time ever at the airport and it was really good! The chicken sandwich was totally worth getting. When we arrived at the Air Bnb, it was shocking because it was so small. Apparently in Gangnam two bedrooms that are that small with no walking space is 2 million! I don't know how we four stayed there but I don't know if I can live in an apartment that small with barely any walking room. Either way, we managed and we had fun for a week before I left to USA.
This is the way to our airbnb. It was in a quiet narrow road and kind of scary like those Korean horror movies. We saw this on Christmas when someone called the ambulance for no reason. A few days before Christmas, we saw some woman scream from our room holding a man and it seemed like he was dying. It was such a scary experience.
Anyway, I will mention some things we did during my Christmas week because we really did so much to mention all of them. Some highlights include going to Cafe Yeonnamdong (there is a post about this in my 3d cafe blog), going to a Korean hip hop concert and seeing Dean&Zico, Kid Milli, Young B, and meeting Junoflo and Marshall(loved!), drinking in Cheongdamdong, Korean sauna, themed cafes, and others!
Firstly, the Airbnb was small but the neighborhood is apparently super luxurious and upscale. It would be like Beverly Hills, Mulholland Drive, or the Upper East Side. Right next to the airbnb, there was this macallan gallery type place and when I googled it, it said that the guy collects expensive paintings and alcohol and puts it in that exact gallery. We saw a Maybach Benz and Yura's partner said that it's worth as much a house and whoever drives that car is extremely rich. The guy apparently bought a 100,000$ alcohol from an auction and put it in that gallery. I saw some Macallans that were on display.

I dunno if this is the 100,000 one but I know it is expensive!

We went to the Coex mall a couple of times because it was so close by our air bnb. It was fun going to all the stores because the mall is so big, and the food is always good. There was also a huge BTS cutout photozone and some artwork created for BTS. We ate some sushi for dinner our first night here.
There was also this giant vegetable tree?! outside the mall and it was so funny because my mom was like WOW ITS HUGE!! and it really was.

We went to the chop chop because I had to go since I saw it on one of my favorite Korean tv shows I still watch to this day. It looked so delicious and I confirmed this when I tried one of their hot dogs.

Their interior was really amazing; I could not believe the huge space and all the decorations/details they put into the interior. It looked like a gallery, not a hot dog house.

The Korean hip hop concert was called Monster Hip Hop Concert, and it was pretty empty. People went next door to see Wave which was some dance group and it was so packed there, but I guess hip hop still isn't too popular in Korea. I knew all of them because I was obsessed with Show me the money at a certain phase. I love Kid Milli still, and it was so exciting to see him perform live. Dean was also so good at singing and so was Zico. Junoflo is very skinny lol

My sister is friends with him so we got to go see him backstage which was very cool. It was also cool that he reserved tickets for her for free under his name.
I cannot believe that I offered Marshall a beer because I got one round for us three, but he refused. It was embarassing but I guess I would not take beer from a stranger also. Maybe he does not drink.
Dean was such a good singer! His singing was beautiful in real life. He also looked very tired and skinnier than on TV. Zico looked the same and he kept dancing. He could not keep still. The only thing was that the whole concert was more than 4 hours long. Usually concerts I go to in LA are 2 hours, but this was so long. I wanted to stay for Zico but we could not ...
Daniel loves aquariums so we went to an aquarium. I forget what it was called but it was a nice big aquarium. I fed Koi fish out of baby bottles for the first time in my life, and it was so fun! I love their powerful suctions when they suck lol.
On December 23, we went to Cheongyecheon river where they built this stream in this underground area a decade ago. It is supposed to a romantic place for couples and people walk around and order food there. They had Christmas decorations all around and it was so pretty. It somehow reminds me of a little reesrve ditch thing I see in the states, but Koreans can make anything beautiful.

The decorations were lit! We walked around and got some street food, and it was delicious.

On Christmas Eve, we went to get our nails done in Gangnam and their Pomeranian was so cute and small! He liked us and was so chill. Our nails were done so professionally and they put like marbled crystal pieces inside of our nails. It sparkled for a few weeks and was so pretty until the end! It was worth it. But very very expensive. around 160$.

We went to three bars that night and had fun trying various drinks we can't drink in America! (In my other Cheongdamdong bars blog)

On Christmas Day, we opened presents and it was fun. I didn't know my family cared so much about me. I even got a pretty pink rose from Daniel and a cute necklace! I got a pink coat I wore back to the states. Thanks Gangnam fam!! Kinda sad we could not get a reservation for Christmas buffet but I am glad I spent a wonderful time with my family. We called about 3 hotels for their dinner buffet but they were all booked everywhere! Amazing how everything's still open in Korea on Christmas though. We just went to the sauna and had fun. They had a fish tank in there but I dunno how they keep it cold in the fish tanks.
The spa also sold pig potato tea, had multiple crane machines, and was pretty big.

By the end of my trip in Seoul, I was so sad to leave because I had so much fun. I loved scootering around the blocks too with us 4. I had so much good food and such a good time there. It will be in my memories forever!! <3 you Korea
