Quarantine Day 18: The Flash Flood

Today was a very stormy day. It was Groundhog Day but I started noticing that everyday is still different than the other days, even if it is subtle. Today I liked how it was raining all day long, even though our roof is collapsing and the ceiling moldy. When my dad built this house out of scratch, I guess he did not build it strong enough so the roof has been collapsing ever since it started pouring rain a few years ago. Our house is also missing a normal type of roof, and our house is rectangular, so the water just sits instead of sliding down. When you look at our deck from the outside, it looks curved as if the roof is sinking and going to collapse soon. For this reason, the ceiling leaks water when it rains and today it started getting worse. My dad's room ceiling is leaking and he needs to do something quick before it all collapses soon. I don't know how he built it but it is not working in the rain. The weather forecast also says that there will be a flash flood today and will rain all day long for 3 whole days. That means the Mojave River Dam behind us will be in danger of extreme flooding, we might all die, and the roof may collapse. Besides all that, the Coronavirus is getting worse and this week is peak week. I do not know how long we will all survive, but at least this blog will remain that is a remnant of me.

My sister was playing Animal Crossing in the morning and I liked listening to the raindrops while blogging today. My mom brought the evil bird (Rona) in and he started climbing on top of my sister's head. He also started biting the remote, the switch remote, the television, and everything he ever saw. I know that birds like shiny things and he liked the stars I folded for a little bit. He also said Baa! because he was happy he was outside of his area for once and started flying around and even said "Woo Hoo!" It is still so funny that a bird we have can talk to us. It is entertaining and keeps us happy.

He is such a curious bird. Every time I start saying something, he listens as if he understands. I guess he is hearing the words so that he can maybe mimic it later. With proper training, I feel that he can be trained to be a good household pet! I just hope that my animals don't accidentally eat him. He doesn't really like showers or anything or looking outside much. He likes noises more and likes to touch things with his beak.

I felt bad for the doggos outside today because they were all wet all day long. We can't even put them outside because they keep digging to get out of our fence. They start running off and bothering the neighbors around us. Once they dug out and after 30 minutes, they were picked up all the way down the road 30 minutes away (by walking) and taken to some neighbor's house. They also mess with other dogs and bother people. This is why we had so many experiences with them digging out in the rain that we cannot let them out in the yard for around 3 days and maybe after. We have Midnight in front of the front door with the heat lamp on at least, so he won't be too cold. He is a puppy with short hair so I felt bad that he had to sleep outside. If he got along with Ghost I would be so happy to have him live inside.

Today I felt scared because the 3 huskies were on a walk and found some animal poo that they rubbed their whole body in. If it is another animal with parvovirus I am scared that Midnight has been exposed to it. I also was going to go get his shots next week, but I am thinking of getting his second round of shots this Thursday wherever it is open.

I let him in the house a little bit and he was so happy! He was exploring, being a good boy and playing with this rubber duck. He is such a cutie.

It was raining all day long and the roof was leaking. The roof was so swollen and my dad said the ceiling will fall down soon. I hope it doesn't and he fixes it asap!
