Honest Review Of Michelin Star Restaurant Sketch In London

I am not sure why people rave about this place, as I really did not like this restaurant at all. The interior is about the best this restaurant can get.

The exterior was just some big old building with "Painting" sketched on top of it; it kind of looked like a construction zone. The good thing about the restaurant was that they have beautiful interiors. They have elaborately decorated majestic doors, stairs, rooms, dining areas, beautiful decorations, etc. etc. I don't know if it was because we had walked around 30 minutes to get here in the blistering cold, but it was way below my expectations. When first walking into the restaurant, the host was not friendly at all. She was wearing some kind of blue ball gown at 10am with a gold embroidered top. It was beautiful but I don't know if it was a fitting dress for such an early morning (also cold!!). I wanted to sit down in the pink room where everyone went for there on Instagram, but she sat us down at the only room that was opened. I don't even know what room it was called because they have so many rooms and they open at random times. I don't know why they do this; it is so confusing for people who want specific rooms and they should just open up all the rooms at once. Either way we went in and it was still pretty. It had a pink/black vibe with neon lights and it looked like a cigar lounge. I was so annoyed that I couldn't sit at the other pink room though. I think they open it up during the evening for cocktails.

Anyway, when I came here for brunch the vibe was cool and their menus were cute. I liked how people kept coming out of the mirrors because they were also doors. I did not know how to open the door to the restroom and it was sketchy that the workers were not even helping by saying anything how to open the doors.

The croissants came out first and they were really delicious. They were really flaky and a bit dry but still really good. The latte was good also. The egg that came with the meal was rather disgusting. I don't know how they made it but it was really disgusting and the mushroom combo was not fitting. I could have made a scrambled better at home from my chicken eggs. I was really disappointed in the food. The price was also like 70$ for brunch. Wow super expensive for a basic croissant and some eggs. Ridiculous. They also upcharged the exchange rate so my food was 8$ more than it should have. Absolutely SKETCH-Y

I had to check out the restroom of course, because it is the most photographed toilet in any restaurant in London. I didn't know which room's toilet but this toilet was pretty nice. It was a bit dark, and it seemed like this belonged to a nightclub, because I couldn't see shit in there. The restroom looked like a very luxurious nightclub toilet. It was pretty crazy but wasn't nice. The faucet didn't even turn on for both sinks and I couldn't wash the soap off of my hands. wtf?

The soap and everything had so much bling and I love how they make you use the soap and don't even have running water in the restrooms. They were also sketchy when I contacted them about overcharging me and said that they are no longer open due to the virus ... they can still email me back!!

All in all I was very disappointed in this experience at Sketch, but the interiors were still very nice regardless. The service was also very disappointing and they look upscale but their service is subpar. Savoy was one of the nicest restaurants I went to in London and they still had upscale service and they were all so nice and friendly. They always checked up on us to see how we were doing. ALl the waiters and hostesses were super nonchalant and did not give a crap about what we wanted. I asked for a poached egg instead of what they gave and they said I had to get that specific type of egg. It ended up being disgusting so I guess they want you to eat the nasty ass egg because they do not care what you like. I am sure they had the egg before so they must know what it tastes like. LIKE DOG POO!

If you want to check out the restrooms and stop by for the atmosphere/beautiful decor/interior, please stop by. Just do not expect any delicious food or Michelin starred food (HOW?! is that even true?) or good service. Just go solely for the photos and interior. I think it is best to just have a cocktail during their cocktail hours. Also, who charges money for reservations? My rating of this place? ****3/10 for SKETCH-Y-NESS.***
