3 Unforgettable Places I Visited In Bali

Updated: Mar 31, 2020

In December before the Covid-19 virus was widespread, I went on an ultimate Asia trip to four countries in 3 weeks. Among those countries, my top favorite country I visited was Bali! On Instagram, I saw so many posts about Bali from top influencers I followed. They took stunning photos at the beach, temples, clubs, and it was a place that I wanted to visit after also watching the Korean drama "Something Happened In Bali." Here are the top 3 unforgettable places that I visited in Bali, that you must know about!

1. Puri Gangga Resort

I stayed at Puri Gangga Resort in Central Ubud in Bali. The hotel was a lot further away from the highly traffic touristy areas, which took me by surprise because I thought that Bali would be a much smaller island. The hotel is a little less than two hours away by car from Denpasar airport. I was relieved that I hired a private driver for my whole trip in Bali, but I also felt kind of bad that they had to drive me to such far areas everyday (even though it was his job). The wonderful thing about Bali is that everything is so cheap, and hiring a driver for a day was only about 35$ USD.

Moving on, Puri Gangga Resort was extremely hospitable and their service was impeccable. They have various activities you can add on to your stay during your trip, such as bike riding along Tegalalang Rice Terrace, bus rides to the terrace, tours they can arrange for you; the list goes on and on. I loved staying at this resort because of how quiet and secluded each room was.

The room was also so wonderful and huge for the price, and it was a very good value. The pool views were amazing, there were amazing free activities and spa treatments that were added with your package. I wanted to do so much more in Bali, but since I only had four days and had so much to see, I kind of missed out on some resort activities I wanted to do.

2. Grab the tastiest (Basically Unlimited) drinks at Club Omnia

This was a poke bowl type entree with a twist, it was amazingg!!

Omnia Day Club was the best club I have ever visited in my life. Better than any Vegas pool club, night club, or any club I have been to in Hollywood. The views of the Indian Ocean, the pool cube with unlimited food and drinks, the amazing pool, relaxation by the pool floating on top of the ocean was my favorite highlight of my whole vacation (possibly my life).

3. Tegalalang Rice Terrace and the Bali Swings

Legit, the Tegalalang Rice Terrace is better than they say. I thought you just go down to the trail and do some rice picking/collecting activities as an option, but there are so many activities you can do at the terrace. The rice terrace is a very large mountainous hill that goes down a trail for hours. To get to the bottom, it will take a few hours and they charge a fee at random points of the trail. If you just want to admire it from the top, there are other activities you can do such as the Bali Swing, which is highly recommended. They push you forwards and backwards, and the swing goes up so high you feel like you will touch the sky. I was screaming and laughing so hard because all my stress just dissolved the moment I went upwards. Remember to rent a dress if you want a gorgeous photo for instagram!

All in all, my trip to Bali was the best solo trip I have ever taken in my life. The private driver was telling me to not travel alone in Bali in the future because the men there are very traditional. I thought it would be scary to travel there alone, but it was so memorable and such a good experience for me. I connected with myself more on a personal level throughout my solo Asia trip, made some new friends in Bali who were very friendly and the sweetest people I have ever met, and fell in love with Bali's traditions, culture and customs. I really wish to go back there soon after the Coronavirus subsides, and want to stay for two weeks straight next time! I love you Bali !!
